Welcome to our new blog! As we continue our life in Lewisville (current weather condition: severe thunderstorm. Don't worry, Lucy and I are indoors while Dylan is working), we'd like to stay connected to everyone that we love. That is one of the wonderful things about a wedding: it allows people to reconnect and catch up with friends and family. So, why not continue by creating a blog, sharing our new life as The Mayfields with you. :)
Last month marked 1 year of Dylan living in Lewisville and 11 months for me. I can't believe we've already been here a year! It is just now feeling like home for me. A wise friend told me that it usually takes a year to feel like a new place is home. I absolutely agree! However, feeling at home here doesn't replace my longing heart for the relationships we have scattered all throughout East Texas. Our hope is that this will help us to stay connected through our time here. (Only the Lord knows the plans He has for our steps and how long exactly that will be.)
